FAQs

FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions.
Please be sure to ask your Good Knight Roofing expert if you have any other questions or concerns.
  • What are your business hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Our Sales Reps work on their own schedules by appointment 7 days a week.

  • Am I Required To Pay My Insurance Deductible?

Yes. To protect citizens from falling victim to fraudsters, Colorado's Senate Bill 38 was signed into law. Offering to pay for your deductable puts both us and you in potential liability for insurance fraud and will absolutly not happen. If you are being told by another roofing contractor that they are willing to "eat" your deductable, RUN!

  • What areas do you serve?

We provide roofing repair and replacement services across the greater Denver Metro area, as far north as Cheyenne, Wyoming and as far south as Pueblo, Colorado all along the Front Range.

  • Do you work with insurance claims?

Absolutely! All of our roofing experts not only know the ins and outs of roofing but we often find ourselves being called insurance specialists.  Since 2011, Good Knight Roofing has managed hundreds of successful insurance claims and even more roof installations.  We look forward to helping however we can!

  • My Roof is leaking! What should I do?

First things first, call us Immediately and set an appointment with one of our roofing experts as soon as possible!

    Some Helpful Tips:

    1. STOP THE WATER DAMAGE. Once you discover an active leak in your roof, the first thing to do is minimize the water damage as much as possible. Take a tarp and lay it over water entry if you can locate it until one of our experts arrives.

    2. CONTAIN THE WATER. Immediately put a bucket or other waterproof container beneath the leak(s) to catch the water. If water splashes onto the floor, put an old T-shirt in the bottom of the bucket to absorb the splash, or try pinning a long string to the ceiling near the leak, so the water will have a path into the bucket. If the paint is bubbling, it’s likely holding water, so puncture the bubble to release the water into your bucket. If you cannot contain the leak... call us for help!

    3. REMOVE THE WATER. Once you have the leak under control, you need to thoroughly dry all carpet, furniture, woodwork and anything else that was exposed to water. Not only will water leave a stain, but mostly, you must prevent mold from growing in your home. If your carpet is soaked, pull it away from the padding and expose both sides of the rug and the pad to briskly circulate air. If the damage is extensive, call a professional water extraction company.

    4. FIX THAT LEAKY ROOF. Once you’ve done all you can to get the situation under control and minimize the damage in your home, it’s time to get your roof fixed. Give us a call if you havn't already and we send out one of our experts to assess the situation, suggest need actions, and get on top of repairing it as soon as possible.

  • Do you offer a warranty?

We only use high-quality materials with a manufacturer's warranty. We also provide a standard 1 year workmanship warranty.  Please ask your Good Knight Representative for details.

  • Who should I talk to about roofing materials?

Your Good Knight Roofing Expert can help you with selecting your roofing materials, show you shingle samples and go over all the details of your roofing project with you. If you have a question that we don't have an answer for, we will work to find one.

  • When will my roof construction start?

Each roof project is scheduled first with your needs and schedule in mind.

Many factors including weather, insurance claim process timeframes, number of daylight hours, number and complexity of projects underway and our suppliers’ ability to deliver materials.

Following any major storm, the time from contract to completion may lengthen. The one thing you can count on is that we will communicate throughout the process and especially as the build day approaches.  You will be notified by our Production Department or your Good Knight Rep before materials are delivered to your house, and again when the crew is scheduled to complete the job.

Generally speaking, you can expect your roofing project to commence between 7 and 60 days from the time all of your paperwork has been submitted to Good Knight Roofing.

We do build year-round, but can only do so as weather permits.

  • Do I leave the building permit displayed?

Yes. Please leave your permit on your home or building until it has been signed by the building inspector. IF YOU REMOVE YOUR PERMIT BEFORE IT IS APPROVED BY THE INSPECTOR – YOUR ROOF WILL LIKELY FAIL INSPECTION. If you see a signature on the “inspection completed” line of your permit, you may take it down and retain it for your own records. If you notice that there are any corrections required by the building inspector, please notify your Good Knight Representative so that we may collect the permit and schedule repairs and/or a re-inspection.

  • My roof is done, whats next?

An inspection to finalize the permit is required. Unfortunately, this is out of our hands and will depend upon your jurisdiction’s availability. Typically, the inspection will be done within a few days of job completion

Roof inspectors become backlogged very quickly following any major storms.  It is not uncommon in these situations for the inspection to take several weeks after your roof is built.

Rest assured that we are requesting inspections and staying on top of this process for you.

  • Why was a ladder left at my house?

In some jurisdictions, roofing contractors are required to supply the ladder for city or county buiding inspectors. We will pick it up once we know the inspection is complete. Typically, this all happens within the same day, but occasionally it can take longer.

  • Why did I receive an invoice when I have already paid my deductible?

This invoice reflects the final amount that is due to us from your insurance company based on the price we agreed upon with them. If you haven’t already, you will receive a check for the amount due from your insurance company. If there is a discrepancy between the amount of money you have received from your insurance provider and the amount of money requested on your bill – the difference is typically your insurance deductible.

Please contact your Good Knight Representative in the event you do not understand your invoice or if any of the amounts do not make sense.

  • What should I expect during the replacement of our roof?

It's a messy and loud process, lots of nails, debris, and years of dirt/dust may come to the ground. When we are completed we double and triple check your property and even your neighbors for any nails and debris. We do our best to protect vegetation close to your home, each property is unique and sometimes we simply cannot prevent all damage. If you beleive you have received damage on your property please call us immediately at (303) 444-2200 to get things resolved.
